For our Painting
Holiday guests,
we will
have sole use of the beautifully appointed small guesthouse
'Sous L'Oliviers' centrally located within the village of
Trausse Minervois.
The guesthouse is owned and run by Debbie
and Georges who work hard to make their guests as
comfortable as possible and to ensure that everybody has all
that they need.
All rooms have delightfully fitted en
suite facilities and tea and coffee making equipment.
Double and twin rooms are available. We are pleased to offer
a discount of £50 on accommodation if you are travelling
alone and are happy to share a room with a fellow guest of
the same sex.
Outside, the guesthouse has a large garden a pretty terrace
where breakfast can be served if you wish, and a very
substantial outdoor swimming pool ideal for relaxing
and sunbathing at the end of the day.
Should the weather make outdoor sketching and painting
unsuitable we will have the use of a large studio on the
first floor. We will also be able to use the studio as a
venue for talks and to exhibit your work.
For breakfast Debbie serves homemade preserves and muffins.
In the evenings home cooked dinners using local seasonal specialities and
produce will be served a short stroll away within the
village.
Non painting partners can participate in some local guided
walks, and will be able to have full use of the guesthouse
every day.
Please note: Unfortunately at the moment we are unable to cater for those
with very restricted mobility as all bedrooms are on the
first or second floor and there is no lift. If you have
specific needs please contact us prior to booking.
For 2011 we will be offering two choices of accommodation for
guests on our walking holidays. You can either
opt for
Sous
L'Oliviers
a centrally located guesthouse within the village of Trausse Minervois
- see details above, or you can be based in one of two ancient traditional village houses.
Staying in one of our village houses is your
chance to engage with the authentic French way of life. The
accent of our walking weeks is on fun and we hope that our
guests will not only enjoy walking in the glorious
surrounding area but will enjoy the company of others and
perhaps form new friendships.
Our comfortable rooms have either twin or double beds with
adjacent bathrooms.
During your stay you will be served a typical continental
breakfast of bread and croissants with homemade jams and
choice of beverage.
Walkers will prepare their own simple packed lunch from
ingredients provided. All food costs are met, but guests are
invited to take turns to join with a partner to not only
plan the evening meals, but to buy the ingredients and
prepare them. This creates a lovely informal 'house party'
ambience.
This also provides an excellent opportunity to practice your
French, as you browse the local shops and markets!
Tea and coffee and some snacks are available at all
times.
